Stephanie started training contortion and circus arts almost two years ago, building on her years of dance experience. She currently trains in Mongolian contortion with Tsengee Byambadorj at Pendulum Aerial Arts.

Stephanie was recently featured in The Oregonian speaking about her recovery and transition back into contortion after being in a car crash with her younger sister. She hopes to use her recovery to inspire others to continue pursuing dreams even after a terrible accident.

In early 2017, Stephanie began working on a duo contortion act with Sydney Nagy, an accomplished acrobat and contortionist who also trains at Pendulum Aerial Arts. The duo took their act to the stage, competing in Circus Star USA, a prestigious national circus arts competition in Hollywood, California with judges from Cirque du Soleil, Cavalia’s Odysseo, and Le Rêve – The Dream. Stephanie and Sydney placed in the top three. Recently the duo have competed in the international circus competition Viva Fest 2018 and took home 1st place in their category. Along with competing in Viva Fest and Circus Star USA, the duo performed on The Ellen Showas the talented audience.

Performance rooted in dance

Stephanie started dancing at the age of 13, training and performing ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, tap, and improv. Stephanie has danced professionally at the Portland Blazers pre-game and halftime shows and the San Diego Holiday Bowl halftime show. She has also danced in many summer dance intensive programs and has competed extensively. She took home first place overall soloist and highest score at Starpower and was awarded the Power Pak accomplishment, dancing alongside Power Pak in Orlando, Florida. Stephanie was also awarded a scholarship and qualified for internationals in Las Vegas, Nevada at Thunderstruck dance competition.
